Usually mold in addition to mildew, fungus and spores will be covered if they result from what's called a "covered peril."
Examples of covered peril s include:
when there is a sudden or accidental water damage event that results in mold damage as when a water pipe bursts, a toilet overflows, or an appliance malfunctions.
In these examples, the mold is hidden behind walls, under floors, or above ceilings, and isn't able to be easily detected.
